I hope u all would have suspected what i'm going to discuss here.
Yes, It's about my Degree. M.S(Software Systems).
There was a discussion went among my friends what to do after B.E. Any PG programmes either MS/MBA. But we were very sure that we have do it. Finally Chosen MS in Software Systems in BITS, Pilani. We started in November 2008.
Actually it was a nice experience all the way. We have to write exams twice in a semester. One is Mid Sem and the other is Comprehensive. Totally 4 semesters. Exams are so difficult to crack. Doing distance education is quite difficult task when you are working in Software company. Getting time to prepare for the exams are so hectic job than the job that we are doing it in office.
No one will seriously believe that we prepare exams in two days. I mean taking two days leave before the exams so for one semester 4 leaves for sure. The highlight here is Mid Sem will be Closed book whereas Comprehensive is Open book.
I will be travelling early in the morning by 6 0 clock to write my exams. That too exams will be on saturdays and sundays. Per day 2 exams. So within 2 days exams will be over.
Mid Sem - Tricks:
Syllabus is huge to grasp but easy to write stories(dont scold me). I used to take up only concepts cum heading. Nothing to do more with reading all pages.
Comprehensive - Tricks:
Adding mid sem syllabus and rest of the book will be the syllabus for Compre exam. Its open book. Yup many will think book is in hand. But very difficult to find answers. 3 hrs time will go in searching answers in the huge book. What i used to do is noting down the page numbers in the first page of all the book. Sometimes marking in index and appendix pages. But if it is Problematic questions then its our head ache..... Some times problems will be in the solution manuals but if it is not there then your day is bad.
This is how we cracked exams. By God sake i cleared all exams in the first attempt itself.
But the highlight is the last semester - Its Dissertation, We have to attend VIVA in BITS,PILANI. So experience about my travel to pilani to complete my MS is secret success story ended on December 2010. So wait & check my next blog for BITS travel and experience to complete my MS.
